Full Wraps, Partial Wraps and Vehicle Graphics

Commercial vehicle wrapping covers a range of approaches depending on coverage, design and budget.

Full vehicle wraps

Cover most or all of the vehicle in printed cast vinyl, transforming the vehicle into a fully branded asset. Custom van wraps at this level give you complete control over the vehicle's appearance. Used where maximum visibility is the priority, where the existing vehicle colour doesn't fit the brand, or where a fleet needs a uniform finish across vehicles of different ages and conditions.

Partial vehicle wraps

Branded vinyl applied to specific panels (sides, rear, bonnet) rather than the full vehicle. A cost-effective way to brand a vehicle clearly without the cost of full coverage. Often used on white or grey base vehicles where the existing colour can become part of the design.

Vehicle graphics

Logos, lettering, contact details and key brand elements applied as cut vinyl or vehicle vinyl graphics. The simplest commercial branding option, suitable for tradespeople, single-vehicle businesses and projects where the goal is clear contact information rather than full visual transformation.

Materials We Use

Every commercial wrap we install uses cast vinyl from one of the four major manufacturers we're certified with: 3M, Avery Dennison, Arlon and Oracal. The specific film we specify on a project depends on the vehicle, the environment and how long the wrap needs to perform.

Cast vinyl is the right choice for commercial vehicles because it conforms to curves and panel features without lifting at the edges, and lasts considerably longer than calendered alternatives. As an Arlon Certified Fleet Installer, our installations on Arlon-supplied materials are warranted by the manufacturer directly, not just by us.

How Long Does a Commercial Wrap Last?

Lifespan depends on the vinyl, the substrate, where the vehicle is washed and parked, and how it's used day to day. Professionally fitted cast vinyl wraps typically last several years on vertical surfaces (van side panels, doors) and slightly less on horizontal panels (bonnets, roofs) where UV exposure is heaviest. Vehicles parked under cover or indoors will outlast vehicles parked on the street.

Sensible care extends the life of a wrap considerably. We provide care guidance covering washing, parking, cleaning products and what to avoid as part of every install.

How Much Does a Commercial Vehicle Wrap Cost?

Van wrap cost depends on four things: vehicle size, coverage (full vs partial vs graphics-only), design complexity and vinyl grade. Commercial vehicle wrap pricing follows the same logic, with HGV and lorry pricing typically higher than van wrapping due to surface area.

Vehicle graphics packages with logos, lettering and contact details cost less than partial wraps. Partial wraps cost less than full wraps. Per-vehicle pricing reduces on multi-vehicle fleet work, where setup costs are spread across multiple installations. Commercial Vehicle Wrapping FAQs

Got questions about commercial vehicle wrapping? Here are a few common things businesses ask before starting a vehicle branding project with MW Graphics.

  • Yes. MW Graphics is based at Four Winds Industrial Estate, Burstwick, just outside Hull (HU12 9EF). We work with Hull and East Yorkshire businesses on commercial vehicle wrapping and deliver fleet rebrands and multi-site projects across the UK.

  • A full wrap covers most or all of the vehicle in printed cast vinyl, completely changing the vehicle's appearance. A partial wrap uses branded vinyl on selected panels rather than the full vehicle, often using the vehicle's existing colour as part of the design. Vehicle graphics are simpler logo, lettering and contact-detail applications, ideal for tradespeople or where minimal branding is needed.

  • Most working vehicles, including panel vans, small commercials, pickup trucks, light commercial vehicles, company cars and refrigerated vehicles. For larger vehicles like HGVs, trailers and buses, we have dedicated services through our Large Scale Wrapping and Bus Wrapping pages.

  • No, when fitted and removed correctly on sound paintwork. Cast vinyl is fully removable and actually protects the underlying paint from UV fade, stone chips and minor scratches during the wrap's lifetime. This makes wrapping a sensible option even on contract-hire and PCP fleets, since vehicles can be returned to original condition at end-of-lease.

  • Yes. We regularly wrap new vehicles soon after delivery, with no waiting period required. The vehicle is prepared properly before wrapping and the cast vinyl bonds cleanly to fresh manufacturer paint without issue.

  • Lifespan depends on the vinyl grade, the substrate condition, washing routine and where the vehicle is parked. Professionally fitted cast vinyl wraps typically last several years on vertical surfaces and slightly less on horizontal panels where UV exposure is heaviest. Sensible care extends life considerably.

  • Yes. Our in-house design team handles van wrap design from concept through to production-ready files. Every van wrap design is presented as a vehicle-specific 3D mock-up so you can see exactly how the artwork sits on your real vehicle before anything prints. We work to your existing brand guidelines or develop fresh artwork from scratch.
